Inventory of pants in my closet:
*Three pairs of khakis--one ankle length and two capris (I know, I know, not cool--but good for work).
*One newish pair of Gap's "Long and Lean" jeans. My favorite.
*One seven year-old pair of "Long and Lean" jeans that I can only wear gardening or camping because of holes and they are fastened with a safety pin.
*Two pairs of J. Jill slacks. For work. Kind of mom jeansesque. But more slacksy than jeansy.
Which means...I need jeans for weekend wear. Which means...I have to go shopping for jeans. I do not heart jeans shopping.
I'm short. Like 5'2 and 1/2". Designers think that all short women are shaped like pre-pubescent boys--rail thin. Not me. Especially below the waist. Finding a pair of jeans that fit my behind and are still short enough for my short legs is a challenge (understatement of the century).
Add to the shopping drama the fact that I have recently seen models in catalogues and magazines wearing high waisted paints (hello 1985). Wow. I don't know if I can give up the lower waisted pants (I said "lower"--not ass-crack low). Anything that rides above the belly button now feels confining.
Suggestions on stores that sell jeans that meet all of my criteria? I'd like to break away from my Long and Leans from Gap. It's time to branch out.
We are...under construction.

I can never find jeans either--because I have the big tummy pooch that I have to try to hide somehow with the jeans that are either too low or too high.
I do not heart the high jeans, but otherwise the pooch hangs over the top which is not pretty.
I don't know. I'm no help.
I can't find jeans either.
My issue is money. I am not paying $150 dollars for one pair of jeans that fit perfect. I am just going to go with the $30 ones that are okay. Levis are okay and fit the budget. Gap hasn't fit my shape since the mom jeans were out.

Okay, I live with you and I heart jeans shopping. Actually I hear any kind of shopping. I promise we can find you an affordable pair of jeans that fit perfectly but it will require some effort. However, I am a professional.
Let's make a shopping date.
Jeanz shopping sux. I like Ann Taylor Loft, but their pants are all too low-slung and I do not like the cut. Ditto what RSG said.
I pay $30 for jeans at lands end- i love their jeans. I don't know if they are momish- but I'm thinking they probably are, since they're comfy. They make them many different ways for heights weights etc. check them out. http://www.landsend.com/ix/womens-clothing/Women/Pants-Shorts/Jeans/index.html?seq=1~2~3~4&catNumbers=83~85~125&visible=1~2~1~1&store=le&sort=Recommended&pageSize=12&tab=2
